Projects: December will bring lots of glitter for angels and Christmas Trees. Candy canes will decorate our classroom. Through paint, glue and various materials in January, we will do snow scenes, snowmen, penguins, polar bears, mittens, and hats. February will find us making hearts and cards and sending love to our families. . Plans: We will have our special Christmas celebrations, learning songs and poems for the holiday. We will be learning about the winter season and winter animals. We will have a Penguin Party, Valentine’s Party and a Pancake & Pajama Day. We will also learn about dinosaurs and basic shapes. Skills: We will work on cutting with scissors, and name and letter recognition. We will also help the children use words to express needs and communicate with the other children. Sharing and listening skills will continue to be encouraged. Stories: Among the many stories we will read are: Gingerbread Baby, Spot’s First Christmas, The Christmas Story, The Hat, The Mitten, Little Penguin’s Tale, Plenty of Penguins, All You Need for a Snowman, Geraldine’s Big Snow, If You’ll Be My Valentine, Mouse’s First Valentine’s Day, Under My Hat I Have a Hood, The Wind Blew. |
